[NEW!]
The prerequisites for the initial implementation
have been clarified.
Following the successful validation and implementation phases of the Radiatively Driven Circulation (RDC) scheme, we are pleased to announce our new partnership framework. This framework is designed not merely as a software license, but as a high-level strategic collaboration to integrate a definitive solution to the half-century-old problem of cumulus parameterization into your modeling systems.
The era of conciliatory climate modeling with empirical "tuning" is over. We offer the RDC scheme, a physically consistent, closed-form theoretical framework derived from first principles. The RDC scheme does not seek to "fit" data through arbitrary parameters; it derives the atmospheric circulation from radiative-convective equilibrium. By joining this project, your institution gains more than just a code; you gain a physically verifiable path forward in the field that has been stagnant for 50 years. The ultimate goal of the RDC scheme is to fully describe the behavior and effects of cumulus clouds in the climate system based on fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
Partnership statuses are granted based on the order of application and a careful evaluation of research alignment and project fit. We prioritize partnerships that demonstrate a strong commitment to our core scientific goals and the long-term integrity of the RDC scheme implementation.
The gold standard for institutions seeking to eliminate persistent biases in climate sensitivity and tropospheric circulation.
Target:
National climate centers and major research institutions
Value:
Full access to the RDC theoretical core and implementation suite.
Investment:
This fee reflects the immense value of leapfrogging decades
of stalled "dynamical detrainment" research, providing an immediate,
physically sound foundation for the next generation of climate models.
To ensure the highest quality of implementation support and dedicated technical dialogue, we are offering a significantly reduced rate for our first three partners under this new framework.
Quota:
Strictly limited to the first 3 successful applicants.
The purpose of this is to provide
comprehensive theoretical and technical support
to those who understand the RDC scheme,
thereby ensuring their success.
Any late applicants will be assigned to a Standard Partnership.
Premium Benefit:
Includes
unlimited consulting services at no additional cost.
Your team gains priority, direct access to our expertise
throughout the integration process.
Rationale:
We view our initial users as co-pioneers.
This 50% discount and full-service support represent our investment
in establishing RDC as the new global standard.
Mass Discount:
Furthermore,
under a comprehensive contract,
the additional discount rate increases as more labs participate.
The fee becomes fixed once 13 labs have participated.
We are actively seeking collaboration with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) laboratories that have not previously engaged in traditional climate modeling. We will convert your fluid model into a radiative-convective model tailored to Earth's atmospheric conditions and conduct radiative-convective equilibrium experiments in order to verify the RDC scheme and to complete its implementation.
Rationale:
The RDC scheme is, at its heart,
a pure physical theory of fluid thermodynamics.
We believe that researchers unburdened by the "dogmas"
of traditional cumulus parameterization
(e.g., Arakawa-Schubert or Kain-Fritsch)
are best positioned to appreciate
and verify the RDC scheme from a first-principles perspective.
Objective:
To foster "Pure Physical Discussion" and demonstrate
the universality of RDC theory across the broader fluid dynamics community.
Request:
Note on Planetary Science Labs:
The partnership category of a laboratory specializing in PLANETARY SCIENCE
will be determined based
on its reliance on the Dynamical Detrainment philosophy.
Note on Contract Exclusivity:
The same exclusivity and availability rules
that apply to the Initial Partnership
also apply to the Strategic CFD Partnership.
This agreement governs the use of the finalized RDC Scheme Implementation Package (or its prototype) within the customer's atmospheric model.
Rights:
The end user is permitted to use the software package
only in its final form and "as is."
Current Status:
Since an RDC Scheme Implementation Package does not yet exist,
this agreement itself is not available yet, either.
Price:
The price will always be at least twice that of Observer Status.
A low-threshold entry designed for institutions that wish to secure their place in the RDC ecosystem while internal resources or implementation timelines are being finalized.
Benefit:
By supporting RDC research through this rate,
users gain both affordable access to the completed package
and the opportunity to upgrade to other partnership tiers
at a preferential price point.
Price Lock-in Guarantee:
This contract guarantees the permanent right
to switch to a full contract at any time.
Crucially,
your transition will be honored at the original rate
active at the time your Observer contract was initiated,
shielding your future budget from strategic price increases.
Your annual subscription fee after changing to
For the use or citation of RDC theory in non-modeling media, such as academic papers, books, or educational videos, contracts are negotiated on a case-by-case basis. For non-commercial projects that significantly contribute to the global understanding or advancement of RDC research, we may grant usage and citation rights free of charge.
We gladly accept support from companies and public organizations that value our RDC research aimed at making accurate climate change projections, even if they do not directly participate in RDC research activities. In return, we will display your organization's logo and link on our website.
We have recently detected frequent and targeted access to our servers
from major global IT enterprises.
Their administrative and strategic responses appear much faster
than those from legacy climate research organizations.
The physical principles of the RDC scheme are mature,
and the only remaining step is its rapid transition
into a 3D dynamical atmospheric model.
Given the unmatched computational power,
agile engineering culture,
and state-of-the-art fluid solvers possessed by leading tech firms,
we believe that partnering with an IT enterprise
will allow us to complete the RDC scheme project at maximum velocity.
Therefore, we are opening a dedicated,
non-standard negotiation track under the following terms:
For all contract tiers, once a partnership is established, the institution retains the right to renew for subsequent years at the same annual rate. Unless an extraordinary site-wide revision is required, your research budget is protected from future market price hikes.
For large-scale umbrella organizations, research consortia, or national agencies managing multiple sub-institutes, we offer Comprehensive Institutional Agreements. These allow for organization-wide deployment under a single, unified contract with significant volume discounts compared to individual laboratory licenses. The specific terms will be determined through thorough negotiations with each relevant organization.
The discount system of the annual subscription fee for the Initial Partnership is shown here. Similar discounts are available for comprehensive institutional agreements besides the Initial Partnership. Contact us for more information.
We offer fee waivers to laboratories with limited funding that demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, implementing the RDC scheme or advancing RDC research. Contact us to discuss this further.
We propose working together to secure external funding. You can partner with us to obtain external funding from the government agencies, regional organizations (such as the EU), and large corporations. Our RDC scheme is a promising next-generation computational method for representing cumulus effects in climate models. Using the RDC scheme implementation project as the basis for our collaborative research will significantly increase our chances of securing external funding. Contact us to discuss this opportunity before applying.
[NOTE]
These are the ideal requirements we have in mind.
We are flexible and will adapt to the needs of each organization.
To ensure a smooth and successful initial implementation of the RDC scheme
under each Partnership,
the partner organization is required to provide the following resources
and environment.
These prerequisites are
REMARKABLY COMPACT
compared to those of typical large-scale climate projects.
Our RDC scheme is an ambitious project that aims to develop a bottom-up atmospheric climate model based on fundamental physical laws, such as fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, beginning with an explanation of cumulus detrainment. This physics-driven approach stands in stark contrast to the many data-driven approaches currently in use. Therefore, please be advised that any attempt to integrate the RDC scheme directly into a practical climate model during the initial stage will inevitably result in failure. The RDC scheme requires a foundational configuration within an environment where energy balance is strictly managed (Radiative-Convective Equilibrium) at the initial stage of implementation. Once the RDC scheme is correctly implemented in this initial stage, it can be seamlessly deployed within your practical model. This specific initial-stage configuration is a prerequisite for the RDC scheme to function correctly; it is not merely a plug-and-play module. We possess the technical expertise and the essential configuration technique required to achieve this integration. We provide these critical technical details and implementation guidance exclusively to our contracted partners as the primary step of our onboarding process. If you aim to utilize the RDC scheme for scientifically rigorous and verifiable climate modeling with institutional access and the necessary implementation protocols, please initiate the formal contract process. We look forward to supporting your team’s transition to a more stable and physically consistent modeling framework.
You might not trust the RDC scheme because it lacks extensive observational results and model validations supporting it. However, it is because the RDC scheme is our unique approach that differs significantly from the conventional cumulus parameterization method. It's only natural that little research has been conducted on this topic. For now, our robust theory and successful results from simple models form a complete foundation. Publicly available materials for the RDC scheme have reached their saturation point. Beyond this stage, further progress requires the "collaborative research and joint implementation" phase, focusing on specific optimizations for specific 3D atmospheric model equations and grid systems. Once the results of the first implementations are published, they should provide a major boost to RDC research. We don't want to convert everyone all at once. Instead, we want to collaborate with select organizations that understand and appreciate the RDC scheme in order to create a paradigm shift in this field of research. If your laboratory is ready to move beyond conventional parameterization and embrace the unorthodox yet physically consistent RDC scheme, please contact us immediately via the link below. We will respond to your requests in a flexible manner.
