Preface

It has been two years since we created our website about the RDC scheme. Before we launched the website, few people were aware of RDC. But thanks to the current interest of many people in RDC, thousands of people have visited the websites of our company and product, downloaded our original papers, and viewed the tweets/posts of our company and product. A Google search using the keywords “global warming”, “water vapor feedback”, and “cumulus parameterization” has brought the main page of our RDC scheme to the top of the list for over a year. At the very least, we hope, there is now probably no researcher in the field who has never heard of the RDC scheme. The first step in our attempt to spread the RDC theory/scheme seems to have gone well. And most importantly, not only have we not found any inconsistencies in the RDC scheme ourselves, but no one in the world has told us that it is wrong. Our belief that the RDC scheme is the only way to describe cumulus detrainment flow has not wavered at all. We are confident in the RDC scheme.

Please do not underestimate RDC as just one issue among many warming studies. It is the basis of a warming mechanism that produces a strong positive water vapor feedback that can explain the observed current accelerated global warming which is surprising people. The RDC scheme is the only way to represent the detrainment flows from the cumulus clouds. It is impossible to express the RDC scheme, which is a boundary value problem, in terms of a combination of dynamics, which is a time evolution problem. In other words, the RDC scheme is the most likely candidate to replace the DD method, which currently seems unsuccessful and which we have shown to be physically flawed. Above all, if RDC did not exist, the atmosphere would not be able to maintain its equilibrium state. The RDC scheme has already been validated by theory and by 2D atmospheric model results. There is no reason why it should not work in a 3D atmosphere. If the RDC scheme has explained the transport around cumulus clouds in a 3D atmosphere, we can put an end to the cumulus parameterization problem that has remained unsolved for half a century. The RDC scheme is not only low risk, but also very ambitious and promising.

We invite you to examine the RDC scheme described on our website. The RDC scheme is not a dogmatic theory of our own. You can easily check the validity of the RDC scheme in your own 3D atmospheric model without modifying the code by calculating the right-hand side of Eq. (8') from the output data averaged over 10 hours. If our reasoning is correct, our contract can do more for your lab than hiring ten DD researchers. If you wish to participate in RDC research but do not have sufficient funds, we will make special consideration for you. Our goal now is to show people the effectiveness of RDC in transport around cumulus clouds in a real-time 3D atmosphere and move forward with the RDC research, which is silent for now. To achieve this goal, we will do our best to help you with your RDC analysis and implementation. Please contact us as soon as possible. Let's break through to get climate prediction right!

In particular, if you have verified that the value of the right-hand side of equation (8') is generally negative following to the easy check procedure, please contact us immediately. You could be the first in the world to report an RDC in a real-time 3D atmospheric model.

And thank you very much for your interest in the RDC scheme. We are now accepting applications for the Standard RDC Scheme License Agreements. The annual subscription rates for a lab are 250,000 EUR for the first year and 100,000 EUR for a consecutive year. We find these amounts to be reasonable. This is because the RDC scheme is the only means of expressing the effect of cumulus on climate, and eventually it must be used. We will try to keep the contract amount for a user the same for the consecutive years, unless there is a significant change in the circumstances. The amount for a new contract will be increased over time, so it pays to sign up early. And conversely, we may reduce the contract amount for users who have made significant contributions to RDC research, if circumstances warrant. Please understand that we are a tiny private company without any public support and that we need to get our own operating expenses to support users in the RDC scheme analysis and implementation and to continue our own basic RDC research.

If you're understaffed for the RDC scheme analysis and implementation, we will work with you. Since we are the original and have experience in building and analyzing numerical models, we will build the model, analyze the results, and implement the RDC scheme in it if we are provided with the research funds and computational environment.

The following policies/guidelines are intended as a starting point. We are flexible and all terms are negotiable. Just contact us and we can get started.

Policies/Guidelines for the Standard RDC Scheme License Agreement

Below is a summary of the policies/guidelines for the standard RDC annual subscription plan. We are willing to negotiate the terms with the applicants.

Contract Unit
A contract is an annual subscription to a Lab. A Lab is an accounting unit of up to 30 members. Once Lab A has signed a contract with us, the members of Lab A can officially use the RDC Scheme. If a member of another Lab B wishes to use the RDC Scheme within Lab A for the purpose of collaborative research, etc., then Lab B must also sign a separate contract.

Please understand that the Kaleidoscheme office will review each applicant and, in rare cases, may reject the standard application and recommend an individual contract.

Contract ID
Each contract user is assigned a contract ID. All external presentations and publications must include the contract ID along with the fact that the RDC scheme was used.

License Fee
A user will receive an anual subscription contract for 250,000 EUR for the first year and 100,000 EUR for a consecutive year. The amount for a new contract will be increased over time. We will try to keep the contract amount for a user the same for the consecutive years, unless there is a significant change in the circumstances.

Duration of the Contract
After the exchange of the contract, the contract comes into effect at the moment of receipt of payment and is valid for one year thereafter.

User Rights
During the term of this Agreement, the user may quote, implement and operate the RDC Scheme for non-commercial purposes. However, the content must be unique to the user and use of the RDC Scheme itself as a principal is not permitted. And of course, the copyrights of the original authors must be respected.

Use of Variants and Subtechnologies of the RDC Scheme
When using any variants or subtechnologies of the RDC scheme, the user must be in the RDC scheme license agreement with Kaleidoscheme for use of the original RDC Scheme. The developers and implementors of the variants and subtechnologies must explain this in advance to the third party who will be using them.

Commercial Use to Unidentified Third Parties
Commercial use in a final product form where the third parties using it cannot be identified, such as publication as a book, requires the user a separate commercial contract with Kaleidoscheme. The terms of the contract depend on the percentage and importance of the RDC scheme in the product's content.

Transfer and Sale of Products to Identified Third Parties
The user may transfer or sell to an identified third party a product that is authorized to use the RDC Scheme, such as new RDC algorithms and codes for RDC scheme analysis and RDC scheme implementation. In such cases, however, the party to whom the user transfers or sells the product must be in the RDC scheme license agreement with Kaleidoscheme and the user must explain this to the third party in advance. (In this case, the user is not required to pay any additional fees to us.)

Reporting Requirements
Prior to any external presentation or publication by the user, and upon our request, the user must report the details of the content and implementation to us so that we can identify and correct any misunderstanding or misuse of the RDC scheme by the user.

Collaboration Option
We will prepare an option for collaboration among participants. If you wish, you can contribute to the RDC research by doing only part of the work, e.g. only computing a 3D atmospheric model or only solving the 2D RDC boundary value problem. This option would reduce your workload and encourage you to apply.

Exemption from Implementation Requirement
The license agreement does not force users to implement the RDC scheme. You can just keep the benefit for the early subscribers without doing anything. If you do not implement the RDC scheme and do not publicize it, you are not required to report its contents to us.

[NOTE]
This suggests that a company that does not have the personnel or equipment to conduct research could contribute by sponsoring RDC research. In this case, we will do some consideration, such as listing the company's name and placing banners linking to the company on our website. And we are also willing to prepare a new sponsorship agreement at a lower price.

Flexible for Any Type of Engagement
If you do not have your own model or human resources to implement the RDC scheme, you can make us involved directly in the work with you or even leave everything to us. In that case, we will consider working either online or on-site. We are flexible with any type of engagement.

Exceptional Considerations
If you are unable to enter into the RDC Scheme License Agreement at this time due to fiscal year quotas, please let us know. We will consider your request.
And we will make special consideration for those wish to participate in RDC research but do not have sufficient funds.

Should circumstances change, the terms of the Agreement may be updated from those set forth herein at the time of annual renewal.
